What is not included
- A will, trust, power of attorney, health care directive or any other legal document. Omliva records where yours are; it does not create them.
- Legal advice, or a lawyer. If you need an estate plan, an attorney does that. Your guide has a place to record who prepared yours and where the signed originals are.
- Notarization, witnessing or filing of any document.
- Financial, tax, insurance or medical advice.
- Storage of your documents by Omliva. Your files live in your own Google Drive or Dropbox.
- Anything printed or mailed. Omliva is entirely digital. For a paper copy, print the PDF yourself; it is laid out in large type for exactly that.
What the money buys that a free checklist does not
Free checklists and will-making sites are good at what they do, and some of them are on our comparison pages. What they hand you is a blank list. Where your information lives
Two different things live in two different places. Your documents (scans of the will, policies, deeds, statements) live in your own Google Drive or Dropbox. Omliva prepares the folders and never holds the files; you can open them without us, share them with Drive's own sharing, and keep every one of them if you stop using Omliva. Your answers (contacts, locations, wishes, the words in the guide) are held by Omliva so it can build and update your guide. Never passwords, PINs or full account numbers, and you can ask us to delete your answers at any time.
